Russell grew up in the Kansas City area. His dad led him to the Lord when he was five years old. While in junior high, God called him to be a missionary. During a Tri-City mission trip to Mexico his senior year of college, God led Russell to serve with OREMEX. Debbie was reared on the mission field. She was saved at the age of fifteen during a youth rally. She helped at OREMEX and met Russell on the mission field. After eight years of marriage the Lord blessed the Raymers with the beautiful addition of Carena Sofia to the family in 2004.
