Matt was born into a family that attended church regularly, but by the age of 13 his mother had been married three times. His family situation caused Matt to attend several different types of churches during his childhood, and he believed he was a Christian. At the age of 17, the Gospel was presented to Matt at a Bible preaching church in east Tennessee. He was saved shortly thereafter, and within a few months the Lord called him to full time missions work.
     Courtney grew up in a pastor’s home and trusted in Christ as a very young child. She grew up with a desire to serve the Lord as a missionary. Matt and Courtney met in college and were married shortly after they graduated. After seminary at Heart of America Theological Seminary, Matt served as the director of Amazing Grace Baptist Camp in Ottawa, Kansas. The Lord called them to the country of Thailand where they have lived since 2007 with their children Lindsey, Erica, Trevor, and Tyler.
