We are excited to once again offer a variety of classes for our Tri-City adults. We have outstanding teachers who have given us different options of studies in God’s Word for our personal edification. Please notice that some classes are book studies and some classes are topical. This is by design. You have the opportunity to study verse by verse through a particular book of the Bible or to survey what the Bible teaches about a specific topic. We have specialty classes for our college-age singles, our ladies, and our young couples. Pastor’s class will be open to all who want to attend, whether they are newcomers or not. We still encourage those who are new at Tri-City to attend Pastor’s class, but it will not be designed for them alone. All are welcome!
It is very important for everyone to be in Sunday school. That teaching and fellowship time helps us to better learn and live God’s Word.
• “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17).
• “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).
• “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” (Joshua 1:8).
• “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17).
• “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works” (II Timothy 3:16-17).
These Scriptures and more show us the importance of learning God’s Word and living God’s Word.

BACK TO THE BEGINNING – A STUDY IN GENESIS–
Ron Webber (Aud) THE LIVES OF THE PATRIARCHS
Genesis is a book of beginnings. We will be continuing our study by looking at the beginnings of the Hebrew nation. Abraham is a friend of God and an example of what it means to trust in the LORD. He becomes for us the pattern of what faith looks like in the life of the child of God. The LORD will use Abraham and his descendants to bring blessing to all families of the earth. Join us as we continue our study in Genesis and journey back to the beginning of the Hebrew nation and the roots of the Christian faith.
LUKE– David Shambaugh (S11)
WALKING WHERE JESUS WALKED – Continued
Have you ever taken a trip to Israel and walked where Jesus walked? You might not be able to do that but as we study the Gospel of Luke, we will “walk where Jesus walked”. This session in the Gospel of Luke we will “walk where Jesus walked” as He enters Jerusalem during His final week on earth. We will be looking at His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, we will see His example He teaches at the Last Supper and His pain and agony during His final hours in the garden. Come and join us on this walk through the Passion Week of our Lord Jesus Christ.
PAUL’S EPISTLE TO THE GALATIANS – Ron Leeper (S-26, 28)
Paul’s letter to the Galatians was written because a corrupted version of the gospel had slipped in to this young church. Many in the church were beginning to place themselves back under the Law for sanctification, believing that faith alone was not sufficient. As we study this letter, we will be reminded that the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ that brings salvation is the same gospel that is sufficient to guide us through our Christian walk. II PETER – David Leeper (S6, 8)
Through the marvelous promises of His Word, God has provided everything we need for a fruitful Christian life. Sadly, most of us struggle to apply these promises to our daily lives and becoming Christlike seems to be an impossible goal. Join us as we look into II Peter and find how we can “stop being a baby” and “grow up” to bring Glory to God.
TOPIC: THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD – Rod Albert (S-14)
John launches his epistle with an audacious claim “These things write we unto you, that your joy may be full!” Is it possible that knowing the Bible and obeying its precepts is the key to human joy? The 19th century poet Algernon Charles Swinburne attacked Christianity’s joy giving nature through his poem “Hymn to Proserpine” when he wrote of Jesus “Thou hast conquered O pale Galilean, the world has grown grey from thy breath…” Decades later the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche would vilify Christianity as the ultimate form of life-denial. Yet, I John will teach us that rather than stealing life and joy, obeying Christ is the only way to truly live and experience joy. Sadly, the modern church does mirror more of the imagination of those biased against our faith—that following Jesus is sullen, joyless and life stealing. In this study, we’ll focus on the great need of modern Christians—JOY! And we’ll learn how our inner nature can be transformed by embracing, obeying and extolling the truths of the Bible.
SPECIALTY CLASSES
NEWCOMERS CLASS: BIBLICAL CHRISTIAN LIVING – Pastor Herbster (S3)
The Bible is not just a book to learn but a book to live. We are to be “doers of the Word” and not hearers only. SINGLES CLASS – Tim Boase (S5)
HAS CHRISTIANITY FAILED YOU?
We all know someone who has walked and talked like a Christian, but then suddenly turns his back on Christianity. We are then left with a number of questions. How did it happen?, Why did it happen?, Did I do something wrong?. Ravi Zacharias digs in and reveals what is going on in the mind of skeptics, whether they have been brought up in a Christian home or not. Through this study we will be strengthening our own faith and begin to acquire the tools necessary to defend the Gospel from skeptics.
LADIES CLASS – Brenda Swofford/Norma Danforth (S16)
CHOOSING GRATITUDE – Continued
Life hurts! So what do we do? Complain, protest, whine! What if we responded with gratitude instead? What if we moved beyond an occasional “thank you” to cultivate a lifestyle of appreciating God’s goodness every day of our lives, despite the circumstances? True gratitude is a not an incidental occurrence, but a choice that should be a response to God’s grace and an acknowledgement of His goodness. We will discover how gratitude can make life joyful, even with all its bumps and bruises.
YOUNG COUPLES CLASS – Tom Chapman/Allen Probus (Cafeteria)
