The Biblical model for discipleship reveals fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ who are able to think for themselves based on the knowledge and application of the Word of God, while standing firm in their walk with God. II Timothy 2:2 tells us “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses the same commit thou to faithful men who shall be able to teach others also.”
     Discipleship begins with conversion. An individual must receive Christ’s gift of grace coupled with repentance. (Romans 6:23)
     Discipleship is a step by step process that should include a mentor, a purpose and a plan.(II Timothy 2:1-4)
     Discipleship will result in a mature child of God who will not only continue to grow in faith but will assume the role of mentor in the life of another.(II Timothy 2:2)
